Given the frequent spread of fire accidents in recycling sites across Taiwan in recent years, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Hualien County has strengthened the work environment safety management for the recycling and disposal industry within the jurisdiction. Especially from yesterday (April 6th), it has successively conducted the joint inspection and visit on environmental protection and fire protection of 50 recycling industries within their jurisdiction accompanied by the Hualien County Fire Bureau. It hopes that the joint inspection and visit will carry out the fire safety and health inspection for the recycling industry of the county and reduce the probability of fire.
 
In this joint environmental protection and fire protection inspection and visit, in addition to explaining to the operators the characteristics of the site, independent fire management is also very important. They also visited the plant (field) area fire equipment, escape equipment, maintenance declaration, fire management, and liquefied petroleum gas at the same time. They also guided safety projects such as management of flammable materials, planning of fire prevention areas, implementation of fire source management, attention to surrounding abnormalities, prevention of artificial arson, familiarization of fire safety equipment, and how to perform initial firefighting.
 
The Environmental Protection Bureau of Hualien County said that the recycling and disposal industry is an important part of the resource recycling work chain. The safety and management of the recycling and disposal industry were more important. Except for firefighting exercises and drills, the relevant personnel in the recycling and disposal industry can understand the principles of fire and related contingency, more advanced fire protection visits and inspections to help various recycling industries to examine fire equipment. It expects that the county's resource recycling-related companies will also take into account fire safety while doing environmental protection work. Besides, increase the employees' fire awareness and disaster resilience to promote public confidence in the environmental safety of the resource recycling site.
